CEBU CITY, Cebu, May 29 (PIA) -- Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte led the launching of the "PagbaBago: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign" in Cebu when she visited the province on May 27. The program is a nationwide campaign and an initiative of the Office of the Vice President that aims to uphold the importance of basic education and promote good oral hygiene of the students. Under this program, the OVP will also provide backpacks to one million students nationwide within six years, or until 2028. During the "Pagbabago" campaign launch held at the Mandaue City Sports Complex, a total of 1,000 grade school students (500 Grade 1 and 500 Grade 4) from various public schools in Mandaue City were given "PagbaBago Bags" containing school supplies and dental kits.   CEBU CITY, Cebu, June 16 (PIA) -- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) partnered with various government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and private sectors to promote Opportunity 2.0 program for out-of-school youth (OSY). Opportunity 2.0 or the O2 program is a P1.9-B program designed to support existing programs and mechanisms for Filipino OSY to improve their education, employment, and livelihood outcomes. The said program is bridging workforce development gaps among the youth, government programs, and businesses through a tailored USAID Private Sectors Engagement model which targets the co-creation of tools and processes to help partners collaborate towards shared goals. As of February 2023, O2 has reached 33,257 OSYs with 29,533 OSYs who were able to complete life and soft skills training.
