Comelec nipagawas og mga lagda sa gun ban alang sa 2023 Brgy, SK elections

 


TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, June 8 (PIA) -- Nipagawas ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) niadtong Miyerkules, Hunyo 7 sa mga lagda ug regulasyon alang sa gun ban period atol sa 2023 Barangay ug Sangguniang Elections (BSKE).

Ang gun ban period gitakdang magsugod sa Agosto 28 hangtod Nobyembre 29, dungan sa election period atol sa BSKE.

Ubos sa Comelec Resolution No. 10918, ang Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns, pinangulohan ni Commissioner Aimee Ferolino isip Chairperson, maoy gitahasan sa pag-isyu og Certificates of Authority (CA) niadtong exempted sa gun ban.

Gawas kun gitugotan sa poll body pinaagi sa usa ka CA, ang mosunod nga mga buhat gidili sa panahon sa eleksyon:

Una na niini ang pagdala o pag-transport og mga armas ug uban pang makamatay nga hinagiban gawas sa pinuy-anan o dapit sa negosyo, ug sa tanang publikong dapit;

Sa pag-empleyo, pagpahimulos, o pag-apil sa mga serbisyo sa mga security personnel ug bodyguards; ug ang pagdala o paghatod sa mga armas ug mga eksplosibo, lakip ang mga piyesa niini, mga bala, ug/o mga sangkap.

Matud pa sa Comelec, kining mga pagdili gikonsiderar nga election offenses nga adunay silot nga pagkabilanggo nga dili moubos sa usa ka tuig apan dili molapas sa unom ka tuig nga walay probation, permanenteng disqualification sa paghupot sa katungdanan sa publiko, ug paghikaw sa katungod sa pagboto.

Kun ang malapason usa ka langyaw, sila masentensyahan sa deportasyon pagkahuman sa pagserbisyo sa katumbas nga termino sa bilanggoan.

Samtang ang Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns nagsugod na sa sayo nga pag-file sa mga aplikasyon alang sa pag-isyu sa mga CA alang sa gun ban exemption niadtong Hunyo 5, 2023 hangtod Nobyembre 15, 2023. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)

Bohol eyes sundown clinics to arrest spike in HIV cases

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) -- The Bohol Provincial Health Office has raised the need to establish  sundown clinics in the province to arrest the increase in Human-Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases. Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez disclosed that there was an alarming spike of 193 HIV cases in the province in November 2023. This surfaced during the recent community-based testing operations that the province conducted using its test kits.  This is on top of the cumulative 614 HIV cases recorded in the province in recent years, bringing the total to 8107 cases, said Lopez.  All local government units in Bohol have recorded HIV cases, he added.  “Part of the solution is putting up sundown clinics,” said PHO Health Care Support Division Head Dr. Emerson Mateo.  Sundown clinics Sundown clinics serve as main clinic facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.  They are open from 5:00 ...
