TESDA7 awards 92 techvoc graduates

  CEBU CITY, Cebu, March 1 (PIA) -- The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority Region 7 (TESDA-7) on March 1 awarded 92 trainees who finished their technical vocational courses for construction-related qualifications. The graduates came from Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu Lapu City. They successfully completed their TVET courses where 24 learners finished Carpentry NC II, 24 for Masonry NC II, 22 for Reinforced Steel Works NC II, and 22 for Construction Painting NC II. The graduates were awarded a certificate of course completion and a training support fund. The three-month long skills training was under the first batch of the Skills for Prosperity (SfP) Project, a multi-stakeholder collaboration jointly implemented by TESDA7, International Labor Organization (ILO), and Cebu Contractors Association (CCA) funded by the UK Global Prosperity Fund. 2nd TESDA-Daikin HVAC training center to open in Cebu City

(PIA7) CEBU CITY – More Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) scholars in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) sector are set to benefit from the agency’s continued partnership with a Japanese air conditioning company.  On May 18, TESDA Sec. Isidro Lapeña, together with Daikin Philippines President Takayoshi Miki, announced the establishment of the HVAC Training Center inside the TESDA-7 Compound in Cebu City, the second in the Philippines. The HVAC Training Center in Cebu City is part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TESDA and Daikin Philippines which was signed on July 15, 2021. TESDA offers training programs to 86 brgys in CV

CEBU CITY, Cebu, May 23 (PIA) -- The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority in Region 7 (TESDA-7) has listed 86 barangays in Central Visayas as recipients of the skills training programs under the Barangay Development Program of the Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Education Cluster (PRLEC) in the region.  The program will be implemented in 39 barangays in Bohol, 39 in Negros Oriental, and eight in Cebu. TESDA-7 will offer skills enhancement training courses such as driving, cookery, baking, welding, and small engine training. TESDA, which leads the the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC 7) under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), said they were already done with the consultations in 66 out of the 86 barangays.  “ After the consultations, we were able to identify the preferred programs that we will provide to these barangays, and TESDA will now go to these communities along with our partner agencies...

22 RRCY beneficiaries graduate from TESDA NC II

  CEBU CITY, Cebu, Nov. 26 (PIA) -- A total of 22 residents of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (RRCY) graduated from the Electrical Installation and Maintenance NCII course of the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Oct. 27.  The 22 graduates are the pioneering batch of TESDA trainees of the center, said DSWD-7 Regional Information Officer Leah Quintana.  “We will not forget all the help we received because if it were not for you, we would not be able to recognize our part in our respective communities, especially when we get out of here,” said Jose, 18, during his graduation speech. TESDA-7 gives starter toolkits during Duterte Legacy Caravan

CEBU CITY, Cebu, Oct. 25 (PIA) -- The Technical Education Skills Development and Authority (TESDA-7) distributed starter toolkits to its selected scholars during the fourth and fifth days of the Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan Cebu Leg in Alegria on Oct. 24 and Medellin and Daanbantayan on Oct. 25.  TESDA-7 Assistant Regional Director and Provincial Director Floro Ringca led the distribution of starter toolkits to TESDA scholars who finished the skills training of its scholarship programs.
