Bohol tourist arrivals misulbong sa 313%

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, January 9 (PIA) -- Tulo ka gatus ug napulo ug tulo ka porsyento ang pag-busdik sa kadaghanon sa turist nga ming-abut sa Bohol sa 2023, kon itandi sa 2021. DOT inaugurates 1st Tourist Rest Area in Bohol

    DAUIS, Bohol, Dec. 4 (PIA) -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) inaugurated the first Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Bohol at Brgy. Poblacion, Dauis on Dec. 2, 2023. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco led the launching and official turn over along with Gregory Oller and Jetro Nicolas Lozada, assistant chief operation officers of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA). One of the flagship programs of DOT, the TRA is grounded on the department's vision to provide convenience and comfort to tourists. The facility offers clean restrooms for tourists in transit to the different tourist destinations in the province. Cebu hosts 1st Philippine Tourism Dive Dialogue

  CEBU CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) kicked off its first Philippine Tourism Dive Dialogue in Cebu on September 14, 2023, which gathered over 300 dive tourism stakeholders in the country. The two-day dialogue aims to address current issues in diving tourism, promote collaboration among public and private stakeholders, advocate for sustainable practices, discussions on safety, standards, and accreditation of tourism-related establishments (TREs) for scuba diving, and the exploration of promising investment opportunities within the dive industry to foster the growth of dive tourism in the Philippines. The dialogue ends on Sept. 15, 2023 with a coastal clean-up in one of the beaches in Mactan. Bohol Guv to form task force to arrest colorum operators

  CORTES, Bohol, July 10 (PIA) -- Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado is eyeing to create a task force to go after operators running colorum businesses in the tourism industry here, especially in the transport sector. This move is in line with his efforts to level the playing field for the legitimate operators and the fly-by night operators in the province. During the Transportation Forum convened by the Bohol Tourism Office at the Panda Tea Garden on June 9, Aumentado said it is disheartening when tourists he engaged with in his nine years as a regular Bohol to Manila commuter, said they admire the beauty and charm of Bohol but it is expensive here. DOT-7 showcase digitization initiatives to boost tourism growth in Central Visayas

  CEBU CITY, Cebu, June 29 (PIA) -- The Department of Tourism in Central Visayas (DOT-7) presented their digitization initiatives in improving tourism growth opportunities in the region during the 25th Regional Association of Development Information Officers (RADIO-7) Convention at Mandaue City, Cebu on June 29.
