NegOr police seizes 296 firearms, nabs 10 for election gun ban violations

NOPPO Information Officer Police Lt. Stephen Polinar reported that a police team also arrested 10 persons carrying guns outside their residence. Comelec, PNP in Central Visayas fully ready for elections

  CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) -- The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) and the Commission on Election (COMELEC) in Central Visayas are all set for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election on October 30.  “We are 90% prepared in terms of accountable forms and on augmentation of uniformed personnels,” said COMELEC-7 Administrative Officer Ivan Jason Delos Santos during the recent Kapihan sa PIA interview.  The ten-day campaign period started on October 19 and will end on October 28.  Delos Santos said that teachers who will serve members of the electoral board have already been briefed by Atty. Bohol PNP assures increase in crimes manageable

  JAGNA, Bohol, Aug. 5 (PIA) -- Local crime statisticians have assured that the slight increase in crimes here is not a cause for alarm. This after records show that the total crime count is a little over 1% of the entire population in the province. During the recent joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), Camp Francisco Dagohoy’s Deputy Operations Officer Police Major Rey Olaer said there was an increase in crimes in 2023 as against January to July 2022. From a total of 3,231 crimes reported in the said period in 2022, it jumped to 3,397 or a 5.14 % increase. Total crimes count means the total of all peace and order incidents and public safety incidents as recorded in police blotters in all police stations in Bohol. Camp Dagohoy: Crimes still manageable amid 2.03% up in cases

  CORTES, Bohol, May 20 (PIA) -- Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) will continually to exert efforts in increasing police presence, coordinating police anti-crime operations, and sustain the partnerships to advance the barangay drug-clearing operations. This amid a slight increase in crimes, to which Police Senior Supt. Lorenzo Batuan assessed as still manageable.
