SIQUIJOR, Siquijor, Nov. 15 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Siquijor Provincial Office continues to intensify the skills young Siquijodnons amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
TESDA here has announced the winners of the recently conducted 2021 Siquijor Provincial Skills Competition at Lazi Technical Institute, Tigbawan, Lazi, Siquijor held Oct. 27-28, 2021.
The skills competition is an annual event that serves as a venue to recognize the excellence of young Siquijodnons who may be industry-skilled workers or graduates of technical vocational skills training in the province.
Based on the set international skills standards in the recent WorldSkills Competition, each competitor needs to meet the international standards set per skill area to win.
The event covers four different skills areas: Bakery, Cooking, Restaurant Service, and Fashion Technology.
Each skill area was composed of three passionate and skilled competitors enrolled and/or graduates of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
The following provincial winners will compete in the upcoming Regional Skills Competition (RSC) on Nov. 22-25 in Lahug, Cebu City.
Winners in the RSC will compete at the National Level and later in the International Skills Competition in 2022.
