TESDA7 awards 92 techvoc graduates

 


CEBU CITY, Cebu, March 1 (PIA) -- The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority Region 7 (TESDA-7) on March 1 awarded 92 trainees who finished their technical vocational courses for construction-related qualifications.

The graduates came from Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu Lapu City.

They successfully completed their TVET courses where 24 learners finished Carpentry NC II, 24 for Masonry NC II, 22 for Reinforced Steel Works NC II, and 22 for Construction Painting NC II.

The graduates were awarded a certificate of course completion and a training support fund.

The three-month long skills training was under the first batch of the Skills for Prosperity (SfP) Project, a multi-stakeholder collaboration jointly implemented by TESDA7, International Labor Organization (ILO), and Cebu Contractors Association (CCA) funded by the UK Global Prosperity Fund.

The project aims to develop the construction industry in Central Visayas by providing skills development training to the learners and help them make wise occupational decisions and find better employment opportunities in the construction industry.

The graduation ceremony was attended by TESDA-7 Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr., ILO Country Director Khalid Hassan, CCA President Engr. Francis Gerard Caedo, and Cebu City Councilor Donaldo "Dondon" Hontiveros. (RGC/PIA7 Cebu)

Bohol eyes sundown clinics to arrest spike in HIV cases

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) -- The Bohol Provincial Health Office has raised the need to establish  sundown clinics in the province to arrest the increase in Human-Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases. Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez disclosed that there was an alarming spike of 193 HIV cases in the province in November 2023.
