Dgte receives donation of 16K face masks, 500 vax doses

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Sept. 16 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has received a donation of 16,000 face masks from Temasek Foundation based in Singapore through Filinvest Land Inc. as a show of unity in this time of pandemic. 

Earlier, the city also received 500 doses of Astrazeneca vaccines donated by Filinvest Development Corp. represented by its Assistant Vice Pres. Phil Adnil Calumpang and Branch Manager Ryan Pasicaran of Filinvest Land Dumaguete.

The donated vaccines will be used in the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination of eligible city residents.

The said vaccines were received by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Councilor Lilani Ramon, and City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla and will be used solely for the purpose of Filinvest to support the city government’s efforts in combating COVID-19.

In his message to Temasek Foundation and Filinvest, Remollo expressed his gratitude for the donated face masks and vaccines that can be used by the health workers, frontliners, and residents in the ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.  

Remollo also acknowledged Filinvest Land Inc. for facilitating the shipment and delivery of the surgical face masks to the City Health Office.

“Despite the pandemic, we are consoled by the fact that several organizations and corporations, here and abroad, have extended their generous assistance in solidarity to the government and the citizens of Dumaguete," Remollo said. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)

PVAO to partner with hospitals for improved medical care access of veterans
