Bohol, 5 LGUs earn Gawad Kalasag 'Beyond Compliant' award

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, January 5 (PIA) -- After earning a consistent “fully compliant” rating in disaster and risk reduction and management (DRRM), Bohol has attained a “beyond compliant” rating recently.   Bohol is the only province in Central Visayas that achieved this rating in 2023. RDC7 seeks additional funding for Panglao-Tagbilaran bridge construction

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, December 22 (PIA) – The Regional Development Council in Central Visayas (RDC7) is looking for additional funding to complete the Panglao-Tagbilaran City Offshore Bridge Connector (PTCOBC) project. The multi-million approaches of PTCOBC project may be completed now, but the 2.6-kilometer main bridge still needs funding. This covers the construction project at the Book Pantalan side of the bridge and the other end, the Dauis side. RDC7 is still waiting for the review, appraisal and approval of the funding for the PTCOBC project which has been proposed for a grant from the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). CIDCA is facilitating for the procurement of consultancy services to undertake the conduct of an updated feasibility study  for the project, according to the project brief shared during the latest RDC7 meeting in Bohol. SSS eyes brgy officials for social security coverage

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, January 2 (PIA) – The Social Security System (SSS) is targeting to enroll the newly-elected barangay officials to be the next set of beneficiaries for the government’s social security coverage. This was disclosed by SSS Chief Executive Officer and President Rolando Ledesma-Macasaet during the Stakeholders’ Forum in Bohol recently. Macasaet said SSS has been looking at the possibility of increasing the system’s 42 million members. Barangay officials, even if they are government workers, do not have employer-employee relationship and are not eligible for the government service insurance system. Once they enroll with SSS in their first term of office, a barangay official will only need 12 more months of contribution to have a fully matured policy. BFP magpatukod sa ilang Nat’l Fire Training Institute sa Ubay
