Visayas Blood Center to operate temporary satellite Blood Service Unit during Sinulog

 


CEBU CITY, Cebu, January 16, 2024 (PIA) -- The Subnational Blood Center for Visayas (SNBCV) of the Department of Health (DOH) announced the temporary relocation and set up of a satellite blood assistance unit in Sambag II, Cebu City from January 20 to 21, 2024. 

This is in anticipation of road closures and rerouting schemes to facilitate the 2024 Sinulog Festival, 

According to an advisory posted on the official Facebook page of DOH7, the temporary suspension of its operations at the South Road Properties (SRP) is due to the foreseen heavy traffic and influx of devotees and tourists by January 21, 2024.

During this period, SNBCV will temporarily operate a satellite Blood Service Unit at the Clinical Laboratory at DOH Compound, Osmeña Boulevard, Sambag II, Cebu City.

The satellite BSU will be operational 24 hours on the said dates. 

SNBCV announced that the satellite BSU will exclusively be for the releasing and distribution of blood components to all Blood Service Facilities within the Blood Services Network during the festival. 

While SNBCV ensures a continuous, and expedient delivery of the services, the facility also enjoins all blood services facilities to ensure a prior bulk blood requests. (JAT/PIA 7)

OCD-7: ‘Only OCD can hold incident command system trainings’
