Red tide warning sa Dauis, Tagbilaran nagpabilin

 


TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, July 12 (PIA) -- Nagpabiling positibo sa red tide toxin ang mga baybayon sa lalawigan sa Bohol, ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Bicol (BFAR) nagkanayon niadtong Hulyo 11.

Ang presensya sa makahilong red tide sa karne sa kinhason sa mga baybayon sa Dauis ug Tagbilaran City, lapas pa sa regulatory limit. 

Ang Paralytic Shellfish Poison (PSP) o makahilo nga red tide lapas sa limitasyon sa regulasyon.

Ang ubang lugar nga apektado sa red tide mao ang Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur.

Gipahimangnoan sa BFAR ang publiko nga likayan ang pagpanguha, pagdala, pagbaligya, pagpalit, ug pagkaon sa tanang klase sa kinhason ug alamang (gamay nga hipon) gikan sa apektadong tubig sa baybayon aron malikayan ang PSP.

“Fish, squid, regular shrimps, and crabs are safe for human consumption, provided they are fresh and washed thoroughly. Internal organs such as gills and intestines must also be removed before cooking.

Ang isda, nukos, regular nga hipon, ug alimango luwas nga kan-on sa tawo, basta kini lab-as ug hugasan pag-ayo. Ang mga internal nga organo sama sa hasang ug tinai kinahanglan usab nga tangtangon sa dili pa lutuon,” matud pa sa advisory.

Ang red tide usa ka panghitabo nga gipahinabo sa algal blooms nga mahitabo sa daplin sa baybayon nga mga rehiyon. Matod sa mga eksperto, ang mga kinhason dali nga ma-red tide tungod kay kung mokaon sila sa algae nga naggama og hilo, ang hilo mahimong magtigum sa ilang mga tisyu.

Ang mga biotoxin dili makadaot sa mga kinhason, busa ang lebel sa ilang mga tisyu motaas hangtod nga mohubas ang lumot.

Gipakita sa mga pagtuon nga ang mga kinhason sa kadugayan mag-flush sa hilo, apan kini molungtad og pipila ka adlaw ngadto sa pipila ka bulan o mas dugay pa.

Ang kasagarang sintomas sa PSP mao ang tingling, pamanhid sa baba ug extremities, ug gastrointestinal discomforts sama sa pagsuka ug kalibanga.

Sa grabe nga mga kaso, ang kalisud sa pagtulon ug paralysis sa pagsulti nga adunay paghunong sa respiratoryo, ug bisan ang kamatayon, mahimong mahitabo.  (ECB/PIA7 Bohol)

'Barangayanihan' caravan bares accomplishments under PRRD

EMB 7 creates composite team for water sampling

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 of the Department of Environment Natural Resources Central Visayas on Tuesday, Dec. 28, has created a composite team for water sampling in the different parts of the region affected by Typhoon "Odette" (International name: Rai). The EMB 7 deployed two teams conducting ambient water sampling in the Northern Cebu (Liloan area, Consolacion, Mandaue and Mactan Coastal Area) and Southern Cebu (Cebu Port Area, Talisay, Naga and San Fernando). The bureau said the first two samples from Punta Engaño near Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Umapad, Mandaue City near the bridge and Petron) taken last Dec. 23 and 24 were brought to Ostrea Laboratory since the EMB laboratory cannot analyze due to no electricity.
