Bohol, gideklarar sa UNESCO isip labing unang Global Geopark sa PH

 


TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 25 (PIA) -- Opisyal nang gideklarar sa United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) ang isla sa Bohol isip Global Geopark human sa mga deliberasyon atol sa ika-216 nga UNESCO Executive Board Session nga gipahigayon sa Paris, France, niadtong Mayo 24, 2023.

Ang islang lalawigan sa Bohol nahimo nang una ug nag-inusarang lugar sa Pilipinas nga nakakuha sa UNESCO designation.

Ang UNESCO Global Geoparks nag-inusara ug hiniusa nga geograpikanhong mga dapit diin ang mga dapit ug mga talan-awon sa internasyonal nga geological nga kahulogan; gidumala uban ang usa ka holistic nga konsepto sa proteksyon, edukasyon, ug malungtarong kalamboan.

Ang Geopark kinahanglang dumalahon sa usa ka multi-disciplinary project team pinaagi sa usa ka holistic approach, nga nagtutok sa edukasyon ug environmental sustainability.

Ang panaw sa Bohol isip Global Geopark nagsugod niadtong tuig 2013 sa dihang ang grupo sa mga tigdukiduki gikan sa University of the Philippines School of Urban and Regional Planning nagpahigayon og field works sa mga potensyal nga Geopark sa nasud ug miila sa geological karst ug limestone landform sa lalawigan isip usa ka prospect.

Niadtong tuig 2015, ang mga tigdukiduki nakigtambayayong sa Panggamhanan sa Probinsiya sa Bohol pinaagi sa pagpahigayon og panukiduki, pagtinabangay, ug mga workshop nga nangandam alang sa pagtudlo sa UNESCO nga gigiyahan sa Philippine National Commission for UNESCO (UNACOM).

Ang Bohol nahimong usa sa 18 ka posibleng bag-ong Global Geoparks nga nominado niadtong 2022 tungod sa iyang geological significance ug scientific nga importansya.

Uban sa laing 17 ka bag-ong geoparks, ang isla sa Bohol moapil na sa Global Geoparks Network nga nagdala sa kinatibuk-ang ihap sa mga miyembro ngadto sa 195 karong tuiga.

Naghatag ang Network og plataporma alang sa internasyonal nga kooperasyon, nga nagtugot sa mga global geopark ug mga nangandoy nga geopark sa pagpaambit sa labing maayo nga mga gawi ug pagpalambo sa UNESCO Global Geopark brand.

Ang kagamhanang probinsyal sa Bohol, isip kinauyokan nga institusyon sa pagdumala sa Bohol Island Geopark, nagpaabot sa ilang kinahiladman nga pasalamat ngadto sa mga miyembro sa technical working group, technical advisers, partners gikan sa academe, eskwelahan, non-government organizations, national government agencies, local government units, mga ahensya sa tour, lokal nga negosyo, mga boluntaryo, ug mga tigsuporta nga naghimo niini nga damgo nga usa ka kamatuoran.
