TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, April 24 (PIA) -- Gilauman sa Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) nga ang paglusad sa Lite Shipping Corporation sa bag-o nilang Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry mopalambo sa maritime tourism ug maghatag og dugang akses sa shipping services tali sa probinsya sa Sugbo ug Bohol ingon man usab sa duol nga mga dapit.

Ang MV Lite Ferry Seven gi-unveil atol sa usa ka kalihokan sa sudad sa Tagbilaran niadtong Sabado, Abril 22, 2023.

May gitas-on nga 72 metros ug narehistro nga 2,450 gross tonelada, ang bag-ong RoRo ferry adunay kapasidad sa 300 ka mga pasahero, 18 ka ten-wheeler trucks, ug 10 ka mga sakyanan.

Ang barko, nga gitukod sa China ug nahuman niadtong 2022, adunay mga standard ug tourist accommodation nga giklasipikar sa RINA sa Italy.

Atol sa maong kalihokan, si MARINA Administrator Hernani N Fabia mipasiugda sa kamahinungdanon sa paglusad sa syudad sa Tagbilaran, nga nagtimaan nga kini nagpasabot sa usa ka dakong milestone sa padayon nga pag-uswag sa syudad isip destinasyon sa mga turista sa Bohol.

Uban sa pagpalapad sa barko sa Lite Shipping Corporation, ang MARINA mihatag og pioneering status sa MV Lite Ferry Seven sa mga rota sa Oslob, Cebu ngadto sa Dapitan City ug Dipolog City.

Ang bag-ong RoRo ferry kabahin sa Lite Shipping Corporation's re-fleeting program sa milabay nga dekada, nga naglakip sa halos katunga sa fleet nga nakuha nga bag-o ug one-fourth sa fleet ubos sa 20 ka tuig ang edad sa dihang nakuha.

EMB 7 creates composite team for water sampling

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 of the Department of Environment Natural Resources Central Visayas on Tuesday, Dec. 28, has created a composite team for water sampling in the different parts of the region affected by Typhoon "Odette" (International name: Rai). The EMB 7 deployed two teams conducting ambient water sampling in the Northern Cebu (Liloan area, Consolacion, Mandaue and Mactan Coastal Area) and Southern Cebu (Cebu Port Area, Talisay, Naga and San Fernando). The bureau said the first two samples from Punta Engaño near Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Umapad, Mandaue City near the bridge and Petron) taken last Dec. 23 and 24 were brought to Ostrea Laboratory since the EMB laboratory cannot analyze due to no electricity. Dumaguete crime rate drops

  DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Nov. 10 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City Police Station has reported that between October 1 to Nov. 7, only 70 crime incidents were recorded, a decrease by 21% compared to 91 incidents in the same period of last year. In a City Peace and Order Council meeting, Lt. Col. Ronoel Fungo disclosed that no homicide, murder, robbery, carnapping, rape and rape with homicide cases were reported in the same period.  The City Health Office also reported that of the total 905 surrenderees or people who use drugs (PWUDs) in 2017, around 334 or 37% have completed their assessment as of Nov. 7, 2023.
