PAGASA El Niño Watch: Mangandam sa ting-init

 



TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, March 27 (PIA) -- Gi-upgrade sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) ang pagmonitor sa temperatura sa kadagatan ngadto sa El Niño Watch, nga nagpasabot nga dako ang posibilidad nga mahitabo ang El Niño phenomenon sa mosunod nga unom ka bulan.

Sa giluwatang pamahayag niadtong Marso 24, ang PAGASA nagkanayon nga ang watch category sa El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) Alert and Warning System nagpasabot nga 55 porsiyento ang posibilidad nga madeklarar ang El Niño.

Usa ka El Niño Watch ang ipagawas kung ang mga kahimtang sa panahon nagpakita og pag-uswag sa mga pagbag-o sa klima sulod sa sunod nga unom ka bulan.

Sumala pa sa PAGASA, ang El Niño gihulagway pinaagi sa talagsaon nga kainit kay sa kasagaran nga sea surface temperatures (SSTs) sa sentro ug silangang ekwador sa Pasipiko.

Isip usa ka epekto, gipaabot ang ubos sa normal nga pag-ulan, nga mahimong hinungdan sa pag-uga ug huwaw sa daghang mga lugar sa nasud.

Matud pa sa PAGASA, padayon nilang gi-monitor ang ENSO nga kahimtang sa tropikal nga Pasipiko.

Ang katapusang La Niña advisory gi-isyu kaniadtong Marso 10, 2023 nga adunay ENSO - neutral nga mga kondisyon karon.

Apan base sa bag-o nga mga kondisyon ug mga forecast model, ang El Niño lagmit nga molambo sa Hulyo-Agosto-Setyembre 2023 nga panahon ug mahimong magpadayon hangtod sa 2024. Niini nga pag-uswag, ang PAGASA ENSO Alert and Warning System gipataas na sa El Niño Watch.

Hinuon, giklaro sa PAGASA nga ang El Niño nagdugang usab sa posibilidad sa above-normal nga pag-ulan atol sa habagat o southwest monsoon phase sa tuig.

Isip pagpangandam, gi-awhag usab sa ahensya ang publiko nga mohimo og mga precautionary measures karon nga niundang na ang northeast monsoon, ug nagsugod na ang ting-init. (ECB/PIA7 Bohol)

PVAO to partner with hospitals for improved medical care access of veterans
