PBBM leads distribution of gov't aid in Mandaue City

 


CEBU CITY, Cebu Feb. 27 (PIA) -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. concluded his first presidential visit in Cebu by leading the distribution of various government assistance in Mandaue City on Feb. 27.

Joining the president were officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) who provided different kinds of assistance to the target beneficiaries in the province.

DSWD distributed family food packs and financial assistance worth P5,000 to 700 beneficiaries through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

The DTI also distributed livelihood kits and vouchers worth P8,000 each to 20 micro-entrepreneurs under the Pangkabuhayan sa Ginhawa at Pagbangon Program (DTI-PPG).

Meanwhile, the DA distributed corn, tomato, and eggplant seedlings to 146 farmers from seven farmer associations, while DOLE also gave livelihood grants to 26 workers and cooperatives under the Integrated Livelihood and Tupad Program.

In his speech, Pres. Marcos Jr. assured the public that the government under his administration will not stop extending the needed assistance to all Filipinos that will provide them with a better life in the future.

"Kaya’t nandiyan naman kami kaya naman ‘yan ang trabaho namin sa pamahalaan na alamin kung sino ang nangangailangan ng tulong at kung papaano namin tutulungan lahat ng sa aming palagay ay matutulungan ng pamahalaan," he said.

"This is another opportunity for us to do that, and I would just like to make sure kaya po kami nandito, we wanted to make sure that itong ating ipinamimigay ay tuloy-tuloy pa rin hanggang dumating na ‘yung araw na hindi niyo na kailangan ang tulong ng pamahalaan," added the president.

Several key government officials who also attended the said distribution held at Mandaue Sports Complex included Speaker of the House of Representatives Martin Romualdez, DTI Sec. Alfredo Pascual, DSWD Usec. Eduardo Punay, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Terence Calatrava, Cebu Gov. Gwedolyn Garcia, and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.

Prior to the said activity, Pres. Marcos Jr. also attended several events such as the  launching of "Kadiwa ng Pangulo," groundbreaking of Cebu Bus Rapid Transit, and the groundbreaking of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program as part of his one-day visit in the province of Cebu.
