Gipresentar ni Presidente Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. kaniadtong Huwebes ang walo ka punto nga socio-economic agenda sa iyang administrasyon nga gitumong sa mahinuklugong pagputol sa insidente sa kakabus ug pagpataas sa nasud ngadto sa taas nga middle-income status.

"Our socio-economic agenda charts out the government's policy and its different directions that will be used to tackle both near- and medium-term priorities," si Marcos miingon atol sa Philippine Economic Briefing didto sa New York City.

"In the near term, we will address the impact of growing inflationary pressures due to rising global prices of key commodities such as food and fuel. Nagpahayag usab si Marcos og pagsalig nga ang ekonomiya sa Pilipinas anaa sa dalan aron malabwan ang ilang mga silingan sa Asya.

"I thank you for your continuing interest in the Philippines, which we are touting as with great confidence as Asia's fastest rising economic star," sigo niya ngadto sa mga American business leaders and investors.

Sa iyang unom ka adlaw nga working visit sa Estados Unidos, nakigtagbo usab si Marcos sa mga miyembro sa Filipino community aron pasalamatan sila sa ilang suporta ug kontribusyon sa ekonomiya sa Pilipinas.

Naghatag usab siya og usa ka makasaysayanon nga pakigpulong sa ika-77 nga sesyon sa United Nations General Assembly kaniadtong Martes, diin gituki niya ang dinalian nga aksyon sa pagbag-o sa klima ug seguridad sa pagkaon. (PND)

Bohol eyes sundown clinics to arrest spike in HIV cases

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) -- The Bohol Provincial Health Office has raised the need to establish  sundown clinics in the province to arrest the increase in Human-Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases. Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez disclosed that there was an alarming spike of 193 HIV cases in the province in November 2023. This surfaced during the recent community-based testing operations that the province conducted using its test kits.  This is on top of the cumulative 614 HIV cases recorded in the province in recent years, bringing the total to 8107 cases, said Lopez.  All local government units in Bohol have recorded HIV cases, he added.  “Part of the solution is putting up sundown clinics,” said PHO Health Care Support Division Head Dr. Emerson Mateo.  Sundown clinics Sundown clinics serve as main clinic facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.  They are open from 5:00 ...
