2M estudyanteng Pinoy nakalibre sa 'free college education law'


TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, June 1 (PIA) -- Kapin sa duha ka milyong estudyanteng Pinoy ang nakapahimos gikan sa Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act nga nahimong balaod sa administrasyong Duterte.

Gibutyag kini ni Commissioner on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Prospero de Vera III niadtong Martes, ikaduhang adlaw sa Duterte Legacy Summit.

Matud pa ni de Vera nga sa maong gidaghanon, 1.97 milyong estudyante sa 220 state ug local universities and colleges ang ni-avail sa libreng tuition ug miscellaneous fees.

Samtang naa sa 364,168 estudyante usab ang nakapahimos gikan sa Tertiary Education Subsidy ug Tulong Dunong Program nga gitanyag ubos sa Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education law.

Gibutyag ni de Vera nga ang rehiyon nga adunay pinakataas og poverty incidence ang may labing daghan'g mga benepisyaryo alang sa Tertiary Education Subsidy ug Tulong Dunong Program.

Apil na dinhi ang rehiyon sa Bangsamoro nga may labing taas nga poverty incidence hangtod niadtong unang semester sa 2022 nga naa sa 39.4% ug adunay 17,021 benepisyaryo; Rehiyon 13 o Caraga nga may poverty incidence nga 31%, ug adunay 21,172 ka benepisyaryo; apil usab ang Rehiyon 9 o Zamboanga Peninsula (30.9%), Region 8 o Eastern Visayas (28.9%), Rehiyon 12 o Soccsksargen (27.1%) ug Rehiyon 7 o Central Visayas (26.8%).

Ang Rehiyon 12 adunay 43,360 ka benepisyaryo; ang Rehiyon 7 adunay 25,995  benepisyaryo; ang Rehiyon 8 adunay 21,389 benepisyaryo ug ang Rehiyon 9 nga may 18,295 ka benepisyaryo. (ECB/PIA7 Bohol)

PVAO to partner with hospitals for improved medical care access of veterans
