DOLE-7 distributes Kabuhayan grants



CEBU CITY, Cebu, April 25 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 7 recently distributed livelihood assistance or Kabuhayan grants to six associations in Danao City, Cebu.

The associations that received the assistance are Maslog Men and Women Workers Association, Kabanay Workers Association, Sidlak-Juana Workers Association, Cahumayan Farmers Association, Looc Fishermen Association, and TawsanGuinsay Fishermen Association.

The total livelihood grant amounted to P2.5M which will be used to finance their different livelihood projects.

The Sidlak-Juana Workers Association and Kabanay Workers Association were given P500,000 and P200,000, respectively, for their bakery project.

Meanwhile, the Maslog Men and Women Workers Association received P300,000 which will be used to buy kitchen utensils for their catering services.

An assistance to lower the cost of fertilizers was also given to Cahumayan Farmers Association in the amount of P450,000.

Meanwhile, Looc Fishermen Association and Tawsan Guinsay Fishermen Association received P700,000 and P250,000 for their fishnet and cages businesses, respectively.

According to DOLE-7 Cebu Provincial Field Office Officer-In-Charge Vivencio Lagahid, the livelihood assistance was tailored fit to the needs of the beneficiaries.

Lagahid added that the programs are continuously being reinforced to address the demands of the recipients and its market.

Present in the said activity are Danao City PESO Manager Rommel Deiparine, Danao City Treasury Office representatives Administrative Officer V Arcel Durano and Administrative Assistant II Fritzi Almagro with DILP Focal/Senior Labor and Employment Officer Seymoun Hamoy. OCD-7: ‘Only OCD can hold incident command system trainings’
