Pres. Duterte to visit Cebu on March 31

 CEBU CITY, Cebu, March 30 (PIA) -- President Rodrigo Duterte will join the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict's (NTF-ELCAC's) joint meeting with the Regional Task Force (RTF) Central Visayas on March 31 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

To be accompanied by National Security Adviser Sec. Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., Duterte will lead a large gathering where a number of projects, including the "Barangay Development Program” funded by the President's anti-communist task force, will be presented. 

NTF-ELCAC was created by Executive Order (E.O.) No 70 which the President himself chairs while Esperon is its vice chairperson.

Dubbed "Pagpapatuloy ng Tamang Pamamahala (Continuing of Good Governance)", the RTF-7 through the regional agencies of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will showcase ELCAC-initiated activities, development projects, and other accomplishments since the implementation of E.O. 70.

A turnover of the Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) by the agency to the local government units (LGUs) will take place in the meeting.

During the President's Hour, TESDA and DOLE will turn over grants and livelihood programs to beneficiaries.

Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) Sec. Michael Lloyd Dino, also the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for Central Visayas, will give a presentation on the CORDS Accomplishment Report to the President.

The President will give his message ensuring the continued commitment of good governance for peace and order and ending the insurgency problems in the country.

Pres. Duterte will be in Cebu to meet over 200 representatives from national and regional government offices and local chief executives. (IDC/PIA7)

Bohol eyes sundown clinics to arrest spike in HIV cases

  TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) -- The Bohol Provincial Health Office has raised the need to establish  sundown clinics in the province to arrest the increase in Human-Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases. Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez disclosed that there was an alarming spike of 193 HIV cases in the province in November 2023.
