Dgte, PSC launch ‘Laro’t-Saya’ for free

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Dec. 2 (PIA) -- Hundreds of sports enthusiasts of all ages participated in the play and learn sports for free dubbed "Laro’t-Saya sa Parke" of the Dumaguete City government and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at the Pantawan 2 People’s Park.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo thanked PSC Chairperson Butch Ramirez and Commissioner Mon Fernandez, represented by Program Manager Alona Doromal Quintos, for the agency’s continued support to the different outdoor sporting activities that benefitted city residents and helped promote healthy lifestyle, and fun physical fitness.

"Laro’t Saya sa Parke" is open to the public regardless of age, who is willing to learn arnis, chess, badminton, boxing, karatedo, korfball, pencak silat, sepak takraw, Taekwondo, tai-chi, volleyball and zumba for free every Saturday afternoon throughout the year.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 7 Director Shalimar Hofer Tamano, who also attended the launching, lauded Remollo and the PSC for their efforts to make sports and wellness available to everyone by providing coaches, equipment, and venues for free to all.

Ike Xavier Villaflores, coordinator of "Laro’t-Saya sa Parke," encouraged the parents who accompany their children to also participate in the sports of their choice to make their stay worthwhile. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)

DSWD implements full online processing of minor travel clearance

  CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas has announced that applications for minors traveling abroad are now exclusively processed online. Starting February 2025, the Centralized Processing Office – Minors Traveling Abroad (CPO-MTA) will process applications exclusively through its online platform at mta.dswd.gov.ph. 'Barangayanihan' caravan bares accomplishments under PRRD

  CEBU CITY, Cebu, Oct. 24 (PIA) -- The Duterte Legacy Caravan in Cebu dubbed as “Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery” highlighted the various projects and programs implemented in Cebu under the Duterte administration that has brought about a positive change in the lives of its beneficiaries.  Cebu province benefited from several projects from the Duterte administration under the "Build, Build, Build" program such as bridges, diversion roads, evacuation centers, municipal buildings, public markets, road concreting, farm to market roads,  among others. EMB 7 creates composite team for water sampling

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 of the Department of Environment Natural Resources Central Visayas on Tuesday, Dec. 28, has created a composite team for water sampling in the different parts of the region affected by Typhoon "Odette" (International name: Rai). The EMB 7 deployed two teams conducting ambient water sampling in the Northern Cebu (Liloan area, Consolacion, Mandaue and Mactan Coastal Area) and Southern Cebu (Cebu Port Area, Talisay, Naga and San Fernando). The bureau said the first two samples from Punta Engaño near Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Umapad, Mandaue City near the bridge and Petron) taken last Dec. 23 and 24 were brought to Ostrea Laboratory since the EMB laboratory cannot analyze due to no electricity.
