PRESS RELEASE: MEZ2, Lapu-Lapu City LGU team up for drainage clean-up

In line with its efforts to promote sustainable practices in the local community, Mactan Economic Zone 2 has partnered with the Lapu-Lapu City local government unit (LGU) for the clean-up of drainage areas in the city.

Despite the limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the mobility of people, 679 MEZ2 Team Members, locator employees, and Lapu-Lapu residents through the LGU came together to participate in the clean-up, strictly following health and safety protocols.

Staying true to the Aboitiz Group’s core value of Responsibility, MEZ2’s initiative demonstrates its deep commitment to its host community.

The clean-up is meant to ensure the free flow of water in the drainage area that will help prevent flooding, as well as drive awareness to the community to properly dispose of their garbage.

The Bureau of Fire and Protection, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Red Cross also participated in the annual city-wide drive.

This year marks the 10th year MEZ2 is supporting the clean-up. (PR)
