Six-day 'Duterte Legacy' caravan rolls out in Cebu province

 CEBU CITY, Cebu, Oct. 20 (PIA) -- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will spearhead a six-day caravan in 10 local government units (LGUs) in Cebu province for the “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery." 

Set on Oct. 21 to 26, the Cebu leg of the Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan takes off from the simultaneous launching of the nationwide caravan of programs and services organized by PCOO, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Philippine National Police. 

Among the LGUs that will host the caravan in Cebu province are the following: Lapu-lapu City and Cordova on Oct. 21; Talisay City, Oct. 22; San Fernando and Barili, Oct. 23; Moalboal and Alegria, Oct. 24; Medellin and DaanBantayan, Oct. 25; and the Municipality of Bantayan, Oct. 26.

The caravan seeks to inform the public of the government’s landmark projects and services and at the same time showcase the notable achievements of the current administration that brought relevant changes to the lives of the Filipino people.

It also aims to bring the basic services of the government to the grassroots level and offers on-ground activities for the participants by featuring the One-Stop Shop "Serbisyo Caravan" from different line agencies including the Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. 

PCOO Secretary Sec. Martin M. Andanar will deliver his keynote speech promoting the legacy of good governance initiated by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte while PCOO Assistant Secretary for Global Media and Public Affairs Asec. Jusan Vincent Arcena will lead the official presentation of the Duterte Legacy.

The event in each of the said LGUs will also feature various beneficiaries who will share their experiences that made significant changes in their lives after they received livelihood or scholarship grants from the government. 

The caravan in Cebu province will be livestreamed on the official Facebook pages of PCOO, Philippine Information Agency Region 7, and other government line agencies. (RGC/PIA-7)

'Barangayanihan' caravan bares accomplishments under PRRD

  CEBU CITY, Cebu, Oct. 24 (PIA) -- The Duterte Legacy Caravan in Cebu dubbed as “Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery” highlighted the various projects and programs implemented in Cebu under the Duterte administration that has brought about a positive change in the lives of its beneficiaries.  Cebu province benefited from several projects from the Duterte administration under the "Build, Build, Build" program such as bridges, diversion roads, evacuation centers, municipal buildings, public markets, road concreting, farm to market roads,  among others. EMB 7 creates composite team for water sampling

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 of the Department of Environment Natural Resources Central Visayas on Tuesday, Dec. 28, has created a composite team for water sampling in the different parts of the region affected by Typhoon "Odette" (International name: Rai). The EMB 7 deployed two teams conducting ambient water sampling in the Northern Cebu (Liloan area, Consolacion, Mandaue and Mactan Coastal Area) and Southern Cebu (Cebu Port Area, Talisay, Naga and San Fernando). The bureau said the first two samples from Punta Engaño near Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Umapad, Mandaue City near the bridge and Petron) taken last Dec. 23 and 24 were brought to Ostrea Laboratory since the EMB laboratory cannot analyze due to no electricity.
